Autograph Policies

These policies apply to our International Guests of Honor.
Please read this in its entirety before signing up for a session.

AMKE will utilize the Guidebook app's session registration feature allowing members to reserve a spot for international autograph sessions digitally. This feature has been introduced to make autographs more safe and organized for both attendees and staff. All members should follow the steps below to have an opportunity in attending any international autograph session.

Note: AMKE does not guarantee that attendees will receive an autograph from any guest, even if they are registered for a session. This may come as a result of cancellations, scheduling constraints, or any issues beyond AMKE's control.

How to reserve your spot in an autograph session:

  1. Download the Guidebook app to your mobile device

  2. Tap the top-right profile icon to create an account or log in.

  3. Search and download the “Anime Milwaukee” current year guide

  4. Open the guide and tap “autograph reservation”. Note that reservations will not be available until the announced day and time.

  5. Select the autograph session you would like to register for by selecting the “plus” sign by the session. The guide will confirm and turn to a “check” mark if successful in registering for the session.

    • Please note there are limited slots available for each session and registration will close once all slots are taken.

  6. Registration can be removed at any time before the session's start if you can no longer attend and open the slot to other attendees on the waitlist.

  7. Make sure to link your email and turn on notifications for Guidebook to receive push notifications. If you are moved from the waitlist, this is the only way you will be notified! Check your registration status at any time by viewing the icon to the right of the session. It will become a blue “check” mark if you refresh the app and are moved from the waitlist.

How to check in for the autograph area sessions:

  1. Only members who registered for the autograph sessions will be able to line up. 

  2. If you are waitlisted, you will be notified of availability through Guidebook. We will have an area available to those who are waitlisted to gather, should there be an extra time in the session, but cannot guarantee an autograph for anyone who is waitlisted.

  3. Only members who have the session registration can lineup (Exceptions are accessibility proxy companions or guardians accompanying minors)

  4. You may line up 30 minutes before the session start time. If you arrive earlier you will be asked to return at the proper time. Please do not loiter in the hall.

  5. Show your Guidebook session registration to the Autograph staff, and they will guide you to the appropriate line.

  6. Once in line, please have your Guidebook QR code ready to be scanned. You can find it if you log into your Guidebook account; from the main page, click the left menu, and it will be at the bottom.

  7. Please do not leave the line once your QR code has been scanned, or alert staff in the case of an emergency.

FAQ:

  • The number of registrations per session will depend on the guests and the time scheduled. It can range up to 100 spots.

  • Please remove your name from the registration or waitlist if you are unable to attend the autograph session. This allows other waitlisted attendees a spot before the session begins. Go to the autograph session on your guidebook app you have a reservation/waitlist for, click “unregistered” at the bottom.

  • No, you have to be registered or on the waitlist for a chance to get an international guest's autograph.

  • No, each registration can only be used by the account holder, there are no transfers

  • No, to make it fair and give every fan a chance, please only register once for the same guest's autograph sessions. Members who registered for the same guests on different sessions will be manually unregistered without notification.

  • No, you may only line up once per guest.

  • We recommend you screenshot your registration screen for each session and save it on your phone to show the staff at check in. You can also save your QR code on your phone or print it to be scanned. Staff can look up your registration via the email you have the Guidebook account under as a last resort.

Rules

  • All autographs must be personalized. The name of the personalization may NOT be the name of the character.

  • NO photos or videos are allowed with or of our Japanese Guests of Honor. Attendees found to be breaking this rule risk expulsion from the Autograph Hall and/or revocation of their membership and expulsion from the convention.

  • No Gifts. Japanese Guests of Honor are not accepting gifts during their autograph sessions.

  • AMKE VIP Membership holders are not entitled to any special privileges during these signings. A VIP membership alone does NOT allow you into any signings, you must acquire a ticket for any desired session. There will be no skip the line privileges for VIP at these sessions.

  • Groups are not permitted. The sessions are strictly one person per ticket.

    • Accessibility Exception: Attendees who require assistance may bring one helper, but the helper may not receive an autograph unless they also have a ticket. Please check with Autograph Hall staff for assistance.

Allowed Items:

  • Official Merchandise. This may include anime slipcovers, manga, figures, official posters, etc.

  • Shikishi (Autograph Boards)

  • Your AMKE Membership badge.

  • Additional items at the discretion of the Guest.

Prohibited Items:

  • Unofficial Merchandise. This includes fanart and bootlegs.

  • Funko Pops. NO Funko Pops will be eligible for signing.

  • No plain sheets of plastic are eligible for signing.

  • Ahegao and other similarly sexually graphic or pornographic items.
