Did you know that AMKE's staff is made up completely of dedicated volunteers? From con chair to registration and everything in between, we are a 100% volunteer organization. Whether you have skills in a field or just want to see what goes on under the hood, we're always looking for new people to join the team!

  • What kind of tasks will volunteers be asked to do?

    • The gist of the work is substituting in for assistance where Con Staff may be working. For example, moving carts or other materials from one location to another, checking badges or counting attendance into a panel room, **other things I may have missed???**

  • Are there any perks for volunteering?

    • Yes! a ribbon for volunteering and a free weekend badge for 2027 AMKE if you volunteer 16 hours. - Which days/hours will you be volunteering? Friday from 10am to 10pm, Saturday 8am to 10pm, Sunday 8am to 4pm

  • Will volunteers need a weekend membership to help out, or is a single-day membership fine (if they only plan on volunteering for that day)?

    • Weekend or single day badge for the day they are volunteering. However, if there is no volunteer work for the day then they can enjoy the con freely.

  • When does the Google sign-up Form close?

    • Form will close the Sunday of the con at 4pm(March 8th, 2026) as this will allow folks to sign up to volunteer on anyday through the weekend. If also interested, you can show up to the Juneau Hilton Con Support office and sign up to volunteer their.

  • When will potential volunteers know if they have been chosen to volunteer? Who will reach out?

    • Volunteers will know about their selection by email. During the con, we will communicate by phone number as we'd like volunteers to enjoy their convention time and we will message them or call to come into the con office if there is an immediate volunteer request.
