Guest Announcement: Akie Iishi

Akie Ishii is a celebrated anime director known for her expressive and dynamic directing style, ranging from emotional character drama to high-energy action sequences. Across television, independent animation, and commercial projects, she is widely respected for her passion and dedication to visual storytelling.

She began her career in animation as an assistant director and rose to prominence through her work on acclaimed titles such as episode director and storyboard on PSYCHO-PASS 3, MARS RED, RURI ROCKS, and MY STATUS AS AN ASSASSIN IS OBVIOUSLY STRONGER THAN MY HERO'S.

Most recently, Ishii served as Lead Unit Director, Episode Director, and Storyboard Artist on CODE GEASS: ROZÉ OF THE RECAPTURE, demonstrating her creative leadership on a major franchise.

Ishii's independent work are such as DAIJOBU, NATSUKO'S HOT DAY and more.

Akie Ishii is coming to Anime Milwaukee following her latest work on Trigun Stargaze, where she directed the pivotal Episodes 3 and 6.
