Masquerade Judge: Laughing Rat
Laughing Rat Cosplay's main claim to fame is being that one Ratatouille cosplayer who shows up at AMKE every year, and she wouldn't have it any other way. A self-taught maker and Milwaukee native, she wore her first cosplay at AMKE 2013 and is delighted to judge her hometown con on her tenth cosplay anniversary. When she isn't balancing a rat on her head, Laughing Rat is known for her seamstressing skills, eye for interesting fabric choices, her use of vintage fashion silhouettes, and for frequently competing with her own original concept designs. Most recently she competed in Disney's D23 Mousequerade in Anaheim wearing a gown inspired by Spaceship Earth at Epcot.
Outside of contests, Laughing Rat is a Tolkien nerd, Zelda fan, and out and (mostly ironically) proud Disney Adult. Her collection of Disney trading pins is dwarfed only by her collection of leather bound books. When she isn't threatening to burn her current sewing project on a pagan altar out of frustration, she can usually be found on her couch with something to read and one or more of her twelve pet rats asleep in her shirt.
