Guest Announcement: VGR (VideoGameRemixes)
Blending his talent and passion for electronic music with a healthy dose of gamer nostalgia, VGR reimagines iconic themes and songs from his favorite anime and games as main-stage, EDM festival-style bangers.
VGR’s renditions of popular Nintendo anthems, such as the Mii Channel and Wii Sports themes, have amassed tens of millions of plays on Spotify alone; and VGR’s 2017 “Jump Up, Superstar!” release, which became a 2019 TikTok dance trend, is still contributing to the online pop-culture zeitgeist to this day.
Having previously partnered with Cartoon Network for projects such as the official Steven Universe Future Remix compilation (for which the album art was illustrated by show creator Rebecca Sugar herself) and the Cartoon Network Theme Songs Holiday Remix compilation, VGR has also composed music for video games such as Fortnite and Omega Strikers, as well as the award-winning, cross-platform Rocket League under his original music alias Nokae. Additionally, as Nokae, he released records with Monstercat in 2018 and Tokyo Machine’s label, CHOMPO, in 2024. VGR has also written and produced songs with popular internet personality LilyPichu.
