The goal of the Japanese Program at UWM is to provide students with the linguistic and cultural fluency required to live and work in a Japanese environment. This involves rigorous study of the Japanese language as well as training in a wide array of topics in Japanese culture. As a testament to the efficacy of our program, many of our graduates live in Japan currently, and others live in the United States pursuing careers utilizing their Japanese skills.

If you represent a business or agency that deals with Japanese animation, manga, video games or other such products, you might want to become a sponsor for Anime Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s largest anime convention! Our attendance rate continues to grow each year. Although we started with mere hundreds of attendees, we now boast over several thousand attendees. Hosted in the wonderful downtown Milwaukee area, we occupy the Hyatt Regency hotel and the Wisconsin Center convention center building, and we will continue to grow and bring our attendees the best convention experience possible. If you wish to advertise to our attendees and have your product reach people in the Milwaukee area, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. We have a variety of competitive and attractive sponsoring and advertising opportunities for any business.
2017 Photographer Policies
If you intend to charge attendees for photo shoots we require you to purchase a Photographer Badge. Anyone who are financially profiting from our event and/or attendees must be accounted for through similar regulations as our exhibitors and vendors.
Photographers with professional or pro-sumer gear who are taking photos and their present talent may be approached by staff at the convention and asked if they are doing a paid photo shoot, in the event that you do not have an Anime Milwaukee issued Photographer or Press Badge, you will be escorted to Registration to obtain an appropriate badge.
This badge is $90 (or $45 with a trade-in of your regular attendee badge). The purpose of the application process is to verify your service as legitimate, not to judge quality of work.
Press Rules and Regulations
Welcome respective medias and publishers to another exciting year at Anime Milwaukee!
This is the 10th year of Anime Milwaukee (AMKE), and we are proud to be providing the Milwaukee area with entertainment geared towards the anime and gaming communities. Last year we had over 9,000 attendees join us. AMKE is a three (3) day convention that operates at the Hyatt Regency Hotel and Wisconsin Convention Center in Milwaukee.
Press access for Anime Milwaukee is a powerful tool, so, in order to prevent press passes from falling into the wrong hands, we limit the amount of badges any single publication may have, unless prior appropriate justifications are made with the Press Department Manager.
Are you interested in helping us push our event on your respected medias? Click Here to be directed to downloadable media to add to your publication before our event. Let your audiences know that you’ll be here.
Quality Control Check-Ups
Press department staff will be performing post-convention follow-ups with all attending press. Staff will review all convention reporting to determine that services or coverage provided was performed in equal to the value of convention badge(s) to Anime Milwaukee. Number of badges per publication will be a factor in the assessment. Those who have been determined as providing insufficient coverage will either have to meet additional criteria or be denied press access in future years. Online reports may also be showcased on our Inside AMKE page.
We are requesting all raw photos and videos for archiving and marketing purposes. In the event that materials are used from a publication, then that publication will be appropriately accredited.
